Here are some tips I gave to a woman (and I´m sure there are many, that could be found in books I´ve read and writers have written):
a) Write down an scheme, with notes, of all of what you want to say.
b) Check those points you want to address or mention the readers or listeners.
c) Look inside if you have clarified your ideas and FEELINGS on those things you have liked to write or SPEAK: You cannot talk well on thing you haven´t talked to yourself first.
Remember:
Writing is GIVING INFORMATION.
Talking is giving information (and receiving it from others) so you have to consider the way you want INTERACT when COMMUNICATING.
Is it in a written form?
So you write down the way I now did and WE COMMUNICATE ideas (and talked).
Are you talking to people, without expecting reactions, their giving of a small or a big response?
That´s rehearsing, talking in public, same way a man/woman preaches (or reads) any message.
A couple of years ago, I tried STREET PREACHING. That gave me a better lesson than talking in high school or at the university...
Why don´t you try giving a preach in a public street?
It will serve to develope new skills and help you to become a better speaker.
